Environmentally Conscious Heat Treatment

Our Fastheat™ Fluidbed Furnace uses fluidized sand as a clean and efficient heat transfer medium. It provides a green alternative to traditional lead systems. The QED Fastheat™ Fluidbed Furnace enables rapid heat-up times and a more compact furnace footprint compared to open-fired furnaces. When production demand is low, the furnace can be operated in idle mode to reduce gas use and emissions without affecting responsiveness.

Smarter Cleaning with Lower Waste

QED’s High Turbulence® Pickling System increases cleaning efficiency by eliminating the static acid layer that slows traditional processes. High-velocity flow ensures fresh, unspent acid reaches the steel wire’s surface at all times. Our multi-stage tank construction allows for lower acid concentrations, while the High Turbulence technology enables faster wire speeds and reduced overall tank length. The result is easier waste management, reduced water usage, and a smaller equipment footprint.

  • QED Immersion Burner Galvanizers direct heat precisely into the zinc bath. Our Mark IV Immersion Burner uses a double-pass design to preheat combustion air, reaching up to 76% thermal efficiency and reducing exhaust temperatures.
  • QED ThermoBoost™ Immersion Tubes, made from thin-walled technical ceramic, support higher firing rates within the same furnace size, boosting production and lowering consumption simultaneously.
  • QED AutoCoat® zinc coating technology delivers high-precision, heavy zinc coatings using nitrogen wiping. With coating tolerances as low as ±10 g/m², AutoCoat® helps reduce zinc usage and waste while preserving excellent finish quality.
